Logic & Olivia sind René Anke (Gesang / Produktion), Matthias Trompelt (Keyboard / Klavier) und Tino Weigel (Gitarre).
Die Band aus dem Erzgebirge gründete sich bereits 1999 in der heutigen Besetzung unter dem Namen Darkcore.
Die musikalischen Wurzeln der Band liegen eindeutig in den 80er und 90er Jahren. Seit ihren Anfangstagen gingen
die drei den Weg, vorwiegend elektronische Sounds mit alternativen Stilmitteln zu verbinden.Da dies im Laufe ihrer
musikalischen Entwicklung zum Teil in beide Extreme ging, bewegt sich die klangliche Bandbreite des Trios heute
irgendwo zwischen purem tanzbaren Elektro-Pop und alternativ rockigem Sound.

Im Vordergrund der Kompositionen
stehen immer wieder atmosphärische Elemente, dominante elektronische Sounds und Gesangslinien, die ständig
zwischen druck- und gefühlvoll variieren. Unter dem ersten Bandnamen Darkcore wurden in 11 Jahren insgesamt 6 Alben in Eigenregie produziert und veröffentlicht.
In 2011 erfolgte dann die Neuausrichtung der Band. Dies war erforderlich geworden, da der gewählte Bandname sich
mittlerweile zu einer eigenen stilistischen Richtung entwickelte, welche sich inhaltlich in keiner Weise mit dem
musikalischen Schaffen der Band deckte. Das führte nicht nur zu Missverständnissen, auch ging die Band im immer
wichtiger werdenden Medium Internet völlig unter.
Mit playground of the past liefert die Band nun im Jahr 2012 ihr erstes Werk unter dem neuen Banner ab.

Die insgesamt 10 Songs erzählen von Sehnsüchten, Gefühlen und Situationen des Alltages und schauen auch
immer wieder in die Vergangenheit zurück. Die Inhalte sind dabei oft gleichnishaft und können weit und beliebig
interpretiert werden. Härtere Tanznummern wechseln sich mit atmosphärischen Balladen ab, wobei gerade das Spiel
zwischen synthetischen Klängen und teilweise bis zur Unkenntlichkeit verzerrten Gitarren, dem Album in seiner
Gesamtheit ein sehr stimmiges und abgerundetes Klangbild verleiht.

The German band was already founded in 1999 and in those days named Darkcore.
The musical ancestry of the band obviously lies in the eighties and nineties. Since the early days the band members
chose the way of combining prevalent synthesizer sounds with alternative music styles. Because of that fact that
the experiments in the course of their musical development occasionally led them in both extremes, the stylistic range
of the trio today is between pure danceable electronic pop and alternative rocking sound. Always priority have atmosphere
within the compositions, a clear electronic sound and vocals varying from strong to emotional. With darkcore they
produced and released in eleven years altogether 6 albums autonomously
2011 the band members decided the renaming of the band into Logic & Olivia. This became necessary after
the old band name had caused misunderstandings again and again. By this time the name darkcore had become
a special music style over the years and was not comparable with the musical work of the band. In times when
the internet became more and more important the trio couldn't have been found there.
With playground of the past the band now releases 2012 their first album as Logic & Olivia. The ten songs of
the album tell about longings, emotions and situations of the daily routine and look back into the past again and again.
The contents of the texts are used allegorical and they are interpretable in different ways. Within the songs the dominant
sounds of the synthesizers come upon the soft and partially estranged appearing guitars in relentless continuity.
On the album danceable songs regularly alternate with atmospheric ballads. Finally it is this mixture of synthesizers
and guitars witch give the album in its entirety the pleasant and special sound.
